*[spent last Wednesday at the Capitol with a lot of other students from Berkeley and UC Davis for a press conference, and to talk with Assembly people about these exact issues--some of whom were most likely brutalized on their campus two days later. 

Given the context of looming civil war in Syria, or of protestors in Tahrir Square actually being, uh, killed, it feels slightly unethical to argue against tuition hikes and cuts to education, or even pepper spray. But, try saying that aloud to yr comrades...

personally I'm less interested in whether the protests are successful in reforming Prop 13 or ________, and more interested in their capacity to slap the apolitical faces of thousands of students who are so fucking complacent about their privilege.
